There is a light in everything

What touches me most is a tingling sense of melancholy. Everything passes – people, objects, moments – sometimes seen, but more often unseen. I’m drawn to what is overlooked and slightly bruised. The quiet things that carry both beauty and sadness for me.
The split second where light touches something unseen or ordinary and makes it quietly shimmer with life.
The sadness is in their transience, and in the knowledge that I, too, will pass. I’m moved by how modest objects can suddenly feel silly, tender – almost alive. Often, it also brings a smile.
With my images, I try to say: ‘I saw you. You mattered.’ Even to things, as they come alive through my eyes. And so, I choose to embrace the modest.
Through my work, I aim to create new stories, by bringing together silent fragments from different places, to shape new combinations. Lonely fragments finding solace in one another. In a vast, harsh world I create a place that offers comfort, warmth, and a smile.
